I was cruising the swamps on a raft one day
When four alligator crossed, blocking my way
I fed them marshmallows like the tourists do
They swallowed the candy, and some red beans, too

Just when I thought they'd dive an be gone
Had fed them my bait in a game I had won
The smallest gator stopped and stayed behind
